Access To Healthcare is a non-emergency patient transport scheme for people who need to visit their doctor or nurse at any of the surgeries participating in the scheme.
The scheme is operated by volunteer drivers who will collect you from your home and take you to the surgery. The return journey is included.
Access To Healthcare began as a pilot project in the Uckfield area in May 2015 and, having proved very successful, is now expanding to other parts of Wealden. In some areas, hospital appointments can also be accommodated.
Our services are available to everyone at affordable rates. This scheme is of particular benefit to those people who do not have a car, are unable to drive, or have little or no access to public transport.
